After the success of Pac-Man, Namco was anxious to exploit the new desire for maze games. Set in a much more realistic world of automobiles, Rally-X’s maze style game placed you in the driver’s seat of a small blue car. Instead of eating dots, you collected flags. Instead of tentacled blob monsters from Pac-Man, your enemies where other racecars to avoid, a limited fuel supply, and rocks strewn about the “race track”.

UPDATE: This is sold
We have completed our Galaga bartop prototype and have listed it for sale locally.
This has been a fun machine to build and play (the games on this board are great, and Galaga is not only a fun game, but also has excellent artwork that really dresses up the machine and makes it look great). We are still not taking any orders at this time, so this may be your last chance for quite a while to get a bartop if you’re interested.

As you may have noticed, the site design has changed. This was a neccessary change as we upgraded our website guts (blog software) to help stop the spam (it was getting out of control). Because our old blog software was so out of date, it didn’t allow us to keep the same design when we upgraded to the latest version of the software (they have since changed how they handle templates and themes, so it would have been too much work to keep the old design).
We are happy about the new look, and will continue to make small tweaks here and there (add more arcade related art to the site in general). If you have any suggestions or find any broken links, old page designs, etc… please let us know through the comments on this post.

We are currently not accepting any orders until we finalize our CNC machine (computer controlled router) that will enable us to increase efficiency when it comes to manufacturing the arcade cabinets. We do not have an ETA on when this will be done, but will be updating the site with news when it becomes available.
We will also be updating the website soon, which may change the look and feel of the website (we have too many problems with spam with our current blog software, we need to update or change to a different software to curb the ammount of spam we get in the comments as it has become a time consuming task to delete them all).

Pac-Man is turning 25 this month. You can head on over to CNN of all places for a nice little write up.
Also, if you haven’t checked it out already, take a look at the Short History of Pac-Man we wrote up a few months back.

Just wanted to post a quick update. We have a new bartop coming out soon, we have finished the cabinet and control design, but just need to finish the artwork. This has some great classic games on it:
- Galaga
- Ms. Pac-Man
- Pole Position
- Mappy
- Xevious
The artwork for this one is going to be inspired by Galaga, but I think we’ll aslo do a Ms. Pac-Man themed one with the same hardware as we have received a few requests for that.
Hopefully we’ll have some pictures available soon.

The Holiday Special for the Pac-Man inspired bartop has ended (they are now back at their regular price of $599.99). The blank cabinets are still on special ($199.99, regularly $249.99). These are great for MAME or any other projects you may have.
This has been a busy holiday season for ExtraordinaryArcade, and we appreciate all of our clients. We are looking forward to a holiday break and then getting right back to work on a few new designs we have been kicking around. We wish you all happy holidays!
